ABOUT TOM

With the airwaves of Southwest Michigan dominated by songs like “Smoke Gets in Your Eyes” and “Mack the Knife,” Tom realized that he could make up his own melodies. And just like that, a lifelong love of music was born.

It wasn’t until almost 15 years later that he started writing poetry. Combining his words with his melodies was the natural next step.

Tom sang (sings) every day. To work out of depression. To pass the time. To simply enjoy the act of singing. And while he had always held the desire to be a rock star, none of his efforts were really placed towards achieving that goal.

Skip ahead to 2005/2006 when Susan Wright Mogilka, a producer and good friend of Tom’s, heard him sing “By the Grace of God Go I” and demanded he record it. That was the beginning of Tom’s journey to share his music.

Why, at what some would call the “later” years of his life, would he want to begin this journey? Well, anyone who knows him will tell you he will probably outlive us all and that he started this journey a long while back. But if you ask him, it’s just time.

He wants to share the automatic writing that comes from what he calls The Great Whatever, most commonly referred to by most folks as God, First Cause, Source, Divine Spirit, Jesus, Allah, Zoroaster... Because of all the names referred to as God, Tom just calls it “The Great Whatever”. He wants to inspire or hopefully add to or make others’ lives fuller. Music, to Tom, is simply “MAN USING SPIRITUAL INTELLIGENCE CREATIVELY.”
